Just Fooling!

Stories in this morning's Trib and DesNews about a press conference held yesterday by Sen. Mansell -- April Fools! (well, January then). Just wanted to get your attention! Now we'll go back and write what we really meant!

Anybody ever think of coming and talking about things in a reasonable manner first? We ought to do the same with the real estate code -- here's how we think you ought to conduct the real estate business! That would be fun.

Seriously, folks, let's see what they REALLY have to say next, then decide where to go from there.

So after being lied to by the developers and the lobbiests and treated as these developers, lobbiests and legislators have treated, does this make everyone want to go rushing to the table?

Sounds more like a time to negotiate a bill that everyone will try to kill.

I've noticed that my city council and planning meetings are faithfully attended by those with development interests. And that the elected officials sitting in the big chairs often are in the real estate and construction business. Our local governments cater to those who care enough to participate, and it seems that the only ones who really care are the ones looking after their development self interests.

I imagine you will probably post something abou this but there was an article today about the Bluffdale lawsuit. The city asked the judge for time to negotiate a settlement and the judge basically said "why, even if the city can come to an agreement the residents can overrule them".
